Joanne began her public accounting career in 1988 as an audit associate at a large international accounting firm. She is the firm’s first principal and provides tax planning, tax compliance and business consulting to a broad base of clients, including partnerships, S corporations, high-net-worth individuals and trusts. She frequently works with clients in the real estate industry, where she has extensive experience in dealing with tax issues around ownership, development and financing. Joanne also has experience consulting with businesses regarding their state and local tax exposure to ensure they are compliant with their required filings and assisting them mitigate their overall state and local tax exposure.
From 2000 to 2006 Joanne was with D&S and worked for a national accounting firm from 2007 to 2012. While at that firm, her clients included venture capital funds, real estate investment partnerships and a large manufacturing concern. She returned to D&S as a managing associate, where she assisted shareholders in the day-to-day management of client engagements. She was promoted to principal in January 2014, and now has direct responsibility for the management of client engagements.
Joanne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds Master of Taxation degree from the Villanova Law School Graduate Tax Program.
Joanne is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and Commercial Real Estate Women. She also serves on the board of Girls, Inc. of Greater Philadelphia and Southern NJ and the Nelly Berman School of Music.
Residing in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, Joanne enjoys classical music, ballet, traveling, skiing and food.
