IRS's Small Business Fast Track Settlement Program Goes Nationwide

The IRS has announced the nationwide rollout of the Fast Track Settlement (FTS) program, which had previously been available only as a pilot program limited to certain jurisdictions. The FTS program is a streamlined program designed to help small businesses and self-employed individuals under examination by the IRS's Small Business/Self Employed (SB/SE) Division settle their differences with the IRS quicker.

7/2/13 - THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION HAS ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT THE REQUIREMENT WITHIN THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT FOR BUSINESSES WITH 50 OR MORE EMPLOYEES TO PROVIDE HEALTH INSURANCE WILL BE DELAYED UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2015. THE ADMINISTRATION CITED "CONCERNS ABOUT THE COMPLEXITIES OF THE REQUIREMENTS AND THE NEED FOR MORE TIME TO IMPLEMENT THEM EFFECTIVELY."  THESE COMPANIES WILL NOT BE PENALIZED FOR NOT PROVIDING HEALTH INSURANCE THROUGHOUT 2014.
