On April 29, 2010, over 200 students and alumni gathered at LaSalle University’s Ballroom to honor James G. McGrory, CPA, Shareholder with the Philadelphia-based tax accounting and consulting firm Drucker & Scaccetti, P.C., and his co-honorees as the 2010 Michael A. DeAngelis Award recipients.
The Michael A. DeAngelis Award was established at LaSalle is honor of Michael “Iron Mike” DeAngelis, for his demanding and strong-willed, yet encouraging personality. His 34 years of instruction in accounting at La Salle (1947-1981) were highlighted in 1964 with his reception of the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching. Mike’s work with the Beta Alpha Accounting Honors Society and with the Accounting Society helped many accounting majors attain solid employment upon graduation. The Mike DeAngelis Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1982, a year after his premature death.
